Ola Al-Qaradawi Renewed For 15 Days
Today Ola al-Qaradawi was brought before the State Security prosecutor who renewed her detention for an additional 15 days. Ola challenged the allegations against her arguing that for two years she has been held in solitary confinement in a heavily secured wing of the prison and has had no interaction with anyone but the guards.
Her lawyers called for her detention to end and for the State Security to adhere to the decisions of the courts.
“My mother is dying in prison. Each hearing she is weaker from the last. At some point you just need to let detainees go home to their children and grandchildren. For my mother, that’s now,” says Aayah, Ola and Hosam eldest daughter.
The #FreeOlaandHosam campaign continues to advocate for Ola and Hosam’s immediate and unconditional release. We call on the prosecution’s office to reverse this decision and reunite Ola and Hosam with their children, grandchildren and all loved ones once again.
