Ola taken to court a day early for the pre-trial detention hearing of her new case- Prosecutor extended her detention for 15 days
Today Ola al-Qaradawi was transferred from prison to the courthouse for her pretrial detention hearing that was supposedly scheduled for tomorrow. Two weeks ago she was brought into the State Security Prosecution Office and placed in a new case.
After over two years of pre-trial detention, she again today was renewed for another 15 days in her new case.
Amnesty International has released an URGENT ACTION CALL asking for people around the world to voice their concerns and demand the restoration of Ola and Hosam’s human rights and their immediate release.

Ola informed her lawyer that she will continue her hunger strike as long as she continues to be kept behind bars. Ola has been in solitary confinement for over 740 days without a crime, and her health cannot withstand these continued conditions. Her family is worried about her health and ability to continue a hunger strike.
The #FreeOlaandHosam campaign continues to advocate for Ola and Hosam’s immediate and unconditional release. We call on the prosecution’s office to reverse this decision and reunite Ola and Hosam with their children, grandchildren and all loved ones once again.
